Taylor has been coaching Men's and Women's Gymnastics, Levels 1-10, for a combined total 8 years. Over time, Coach Taylor has developed an approach to teaching that includes breaking down skills so that they are easier to grasp and execute. By teaching athletes the mechanics of the ‘how’ and the ‘why’, concepts of dynamic & static motion assist in eliminating confusion in the learning process. Developing a variety of unique drilling and spotting techniques, he has traveled locally and internationally as a clinician helping athletes and coaches to ‘see’ gymnastics at its basic, anatomical parts.
Gymgineering LLC offers a multitude of Booking Options, from Virtual Private Lessons to In-Person Coaching & Athlete Workshops.

MEET ME
Taylor McClendon was born and raised in the suburbs of Atlanta, Georgia. He began gymnastics at the age of 11, competing USAG Levels 1-10, obtaining state and regional titles along the way. After high school, he would then earn a spot with the University of Iowa Men's Gymnastics Team, training with the D1 Hawkeyes. Taylor’s persistent injuries transitioned his passion from athlete to team social-media manager and later would began coaching gymnastics at his local YMCA in Peachtree Corners, GA in 2011.
After graduating college in 2012 with a Civil Engineering degree, Taylor returned to Atlanta to coach work as a licensed Engineer and part-time as competitive team & private coach. After realizing his true passion for youth sports, he quit his corporate career to peruse coaching full-time in 2019. Using his technical background, he acquired a unique style of teaching that explains the science and kinematics of gymnastics to both adults and children, emphasizing technique first and amplitude second. His coaching instagram account (@the_gymgineer) has captured the attention of athletes, coaches & parents globally, where he has worked both in-person and virtually in 25+ states and 15+ countries through virtual and in-person clinics, camps, private lessons and consultations.
In his personal time, Coach Taylor enjoys working out daily, educational TV, History/Space Travel Documentaries, spending time with family and friends, playing flag football year-round, eating (a lot) and playing with his dog, Limah, a Beagle-Jack Russell Mix.
